Qiyam — Standing
Ta'awwudh & Tasmiyahالاِسْتِعَاذَة والتَّسْمِيَة
Both phrases are recited silently in the first rak'ah only, immediately before Al-Fatiha. In Hanafi madhab, the Tasmiyah (Bismillah) is not a verse of Al-Fatiha — it is recited separately before it.
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
A'udhu billahi min ash-shaytanir rajim. Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim.
I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
