Qiyam — Standing
Qawmahالْقَوْمَة
The Imam says 'Sami' Allahu liman hamidah' while rising from Ruku, and the followers reply 'Rabbana wa lakal hamd' (Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 689, 796). This brief standing between Ruku and Sujud is called Qawmah.
سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ
Sami' Allahu liman hamidah. Rabbana wa lakal hamd.
Allah hears the one who praises Him. Our Lord, and to You is all praise.
Hadith
When the Imam says 'Sami'a l-lahu liman hamidah', you say 'Allahumma Rabbana laka l-hamd'. And if what one of you says coincides with what the angels say, his past sins will be forgiven.
